Human Resources Rep - Recruitment

AscendHR, a PEO located in Beckley, WV, is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join our team.
This role plays a vital role in human resources functions and ensures overall client satisfaction. Through client partnerships, develops and maintains an ongoing positive relationship and assists with HR needs. Works collaboratively with internal partners to ensure quality client services and support and provides administrative support to the HR department.
• Acts with the highest level of honesty, trust, character and transparency while providing excellent customer service to clients, employees, and field partners
Improves client retention by building and maintaining a client relationship based on trust and dependability, quality service, and exceeding client expectations
Under the direction of the VP of Administration & HR:
Provides best practice guidance on all areas of HR including but not limited to compliance; employee relations; employee handbooks, policies and procedures; performance and talent management; and training and development
Researches and assists in the appropriate resolution of client issues and concerns; provides customized HR solutions in accordance with internal standards and HR best practices, ensuring prompt issue resolution and timely follow-up
Tracks and reports on compliance training progress and certifications
Assists in the development of training content for both in-person and virtual training opportunities
Partners with team members to ensure a smooth implementation/onboarding experience for new clients and newly hired employees
Conducts HR Assessments for new or existing clients to highlight areas requiring attention and provides appropriate guidance for process improvement and compliance
Reviews and/or produces employee handbooks, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and assists with the development of new policies and procedures
Assists with the development of corrective action notices and performance improvement plans, and provides guidance for disciplinary meetings, investigations, etc.
Provides administrative support for HR department
Works collaboratively with internal partners to ensure quality client services and support; Maintains and consistently increases knowledge of HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources disciplines

Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field is preferred
Strong HR foundational understanding, with a minimum of 2 years of experience within human resources and/or management
Knowledge of all HR facets including general HR, training and development, compliance, benefits administration, payroll, risk management, retirement services, and client support
Excellent computer skills, fully proficient in MS Office, as well as HRIS software and LMS systems
A high degree of personal integrity and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
