Physician - Neonatologist (Full-time)

Neonatologist Position at Connecticut Children's

The Division of Neonatology at Connecticut Children's is looking for a full-time, clinical neonatologist to provide service in the Level III NICU at Danbury Hospital. Danbury Hospital is a 456-bed acute care hospital which houses a remodeled 19-bed, single-room NICU covering a delivery service of 2000. The NICU is supported virtually by subspecialists with 24/7 access to echocardiography, EEG, and imaging. Neonatologists are teamed with neonatal physician assistants to provide coverage following an in-house model. Successful candidates will also be credentialed at 1-2 regional Level II or III NICU's to provide cross coverage on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities include providing assessment of patients by obtaining a comprehensive history, examining patients to obtain objective physical data and supporting information through laboratory and imaging modalities, formulating a differential diagnosis and developing a reasonable treatment plan to include pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions and making appropriate referrals as indicated, maintaining ongoing documentation of patient interventions within the timeframe established by policy, collaborating with nursing, support personnel and administration in matters affecting patient care, ensuring the protection of patient rights and adherence to HIPAA regulations, ensuring appropriate handoff communications are accomplished, responsible for teaching medical students, pediatric residents and neonatal fellows, initiating and/or participating in specific research or other scholarly activities, and academic title at the University of Connecticut will be commensurate with academic credentials.

Active scholarly program with publication history is desirable. Active CT physician license, Active DEA Board eligible or certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine as appropriate.
