Psychiatrist/Family Medicine

The Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication(s), and evaluate treatment results. The Psychiatrist synthesizes theoretical, scientific, and clinical knowledge and exercises independent judgment in the management/delivery of service in accordance with established NEVHC, and other regulatory agency guidelines.

REPORTS TO: Director of Behavioral Health and Director of Adult Medicine

Current and valid board certification in psychiatry.

Medical degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an approved psychiatric residency.

Licensed to practice medicine in state of California.

Current DEA registration.

Fluency in English (speaks, read and write).

Fluency in Spanish (speak, translate, read and write) preferred.

Thorough working knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and contemporary general office practices and procedures.

Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), electronic health record systems, and database systems.

Ability to be flexible and work in a changing environment.

Demonstrated ability to set priorities for tasks to work effectively in spite of interruptions and under minimal supervision. Demonstrated proficiency with the electronic health record database within three months of attending training session(s).

Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality about health care and other patient/client information.
