Neurosciences ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are currently seeking a full time RN for the Neurosciences ICU at MGH. If you have experience working with neuro patients, this could be an opportunity for you. Neuro and critical care experience are preferred, but candidates with experience in general acute care and demonstrating a strong interest in the neuroscience specialty will also be considered.

Caring for critically ill patients who have a variety of neurological diagnoses including stroke, brain hemorrhage, brain or back surgery, heal trauma or spinal cord injury

  • 22 bed unit, adult population
  • Work along-side a medical team in a challenging, fast-paced environment to build a professional practice and fulfilling career
  • Unit-based research efforts are among the best in the world and have afforded us the ability to provide patients with bedside CT scans
  • Patients may require life support systems, including mechanical ventilation for unstable respiratory status and/or medication via continuous infusion to maintain cardiovascular status

  • Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients.

Record patients' medical information and vital signs

Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans

Associate's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred

Registered Nurse RN - MA State License

Clinical nursing experience 0-1 year required

Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment

Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided

Knowledge of medical terminology

Pay Range: $41.72 - $105.65/Hourly
