Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to adult oncology patients receiving chemotherapy, high-dose chemotherapy, and/or bone marrow/stem cell transplant on a mixed-acuity unit
Manage complex medication and blood product administration; travelers do not administer chemotherapy
Care for up to four patients on days or five patients on nights, including Med-Surg level patients as a mixed-acuity unit
Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams including CNAs, care techs, transport, and paramedics/swoop personnel
Float within scope to meet facility staffing needs across various units, including a secondary campus
Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
Required Qualifications
Active or pending Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (pending license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting; experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center required for first-time travelers
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Proficiency with IV drips required
EPIC charting experience required
Willingness and ability to float frequently to various units to meet staffing needs
Preferred Experience / Skills
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
Chemotherapy certification preferred
Prior experience in oncology or bone marrow/stem cell transplant nursing
