AHA BLS Certification required

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required prior to start

Epic experience within the past 2 years required

CMSRN certification preferred

Ability to float to multiple telemetry units and ED Hold areas required

Must work every other weekend or as needed by unit staffing requirements

No block scheduling permitted

Complete work history with bed count, EMR, and facility information required

All employment gaps greater than 90 days must be explained

Unit Details: Procedures Responsibilities include providing direct nursing care to Med-Surg Telemetry and ED Hold patients, performing comprehensive patient assessments, telemetry monitoring, medication administration, IV therapy, glucose monitoring, bladder scanning, blood draws from central lines, care coordination, patient education, discharge planning, and documentation in Epic. The RN will monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, assist with oncology, orthopedic, urology, and general medical-surgical patients, float between designated units as needed, maintain accurate documentation, and deliver safe, evidence-based care while adhering to hospital policies and patient safety standards. Patient ratios typically range from 1:4 to 1:5, supported by CNAs/PCTs and unit clerks.
