Responsibilities

Deliver direct nursing care to adults on the orthopedic trauma and spine-focused Med Surg unit

Monitor telemetry, administer medications, manage IV therapy, and perform wound care as prescribed

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments; develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans

Collaborate with physicians, physical/occupational therapy, case management, and other team members to coordinate care

Support perioperative and postoperative patients, assist with mobilization, discharge planning, and patient/family education

Respond promptly to clinical changes, participate in unit on-call rotations as required, and maintain accurate documentation

Requirements

Active New York RN license

Minimum 2 years of orthopedic nursing experience

Orthopedic trauma experience required

Telemetry monitoring experience required

BLS (American Heart Association)

ACLS (American Heart Association)

Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, and on-call as needed by the unit

Experience in a level 1 trauma facility is preferred
