Senior Mechanical EngineerEnergy Talent Search is working with a client in Houston looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer for their office in Houston. Our client, a leading oil and gas operator headquartered in Houston, is seeking a dedicated professional to join their engineering team. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced industry and wants to play a key role in ensuring operational reliability and safety across critical infrastructure. In this pivotal role, you'll contribute to the design, analysis, and maintenance of mechanical systems that drive upstream and midstream operations. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges, optimize performance, and ensure compliance with industry standards. We're looking for a proactive engineer with a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.What You'll Do:Support the design, selection, and implementation of mechanical systems, rotating equipment, and pressure-containing components across oil and gas facilities.Analyze mechanical systems to identify opportunities for increased reliability, safety, and efficiency, applying advanced engineering calculations and modeling tools.Perform stress, vibration, and fatigue analyses for pipelines, compressors, and pressure vessels; ensure compliance with ASME, API, and ANSI standards.Lead root cause investigations on equipment failures and recommend corrective actions to minimize downtime and costs.Partner with project teams to review vendor proposals, develop specifications, and oversee equipment installations and commissioning.Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to establish preventive and predictive maintenance plans.Ensure all mechanical designs meet regulatory requirements and company safety standards.Drive process and system improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability across operations.Requirements What You'll Bring:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's or Professional Engineer [PE] license in Texas preferred).5-10 years of mechanical engineering experience in the oil and gas industry.Expertise with rotating equipment, pressure vessels, and pipeline systems.Proficiency in CAD and engineering analysis tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or ANSYS.Familiarity with oil and gas standards including API, ASME, and ANSI.Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues and implement practical solutions.Commitment to accuracy, safety, and compliance in all engineering deliverables.Annual Salary: Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience) plus performance-based bonus.Benefits: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, plus 401(k) with company match.Location: Based in Houston, TX — a hub for oil and gas innovation and opportunity.Standard full-time schedule, with occasional site visits to operational facilities. 5 days a week in the office.Green Card or US Citizen only.
