The salary range for this position is $36.95–$39.00 per hour, with additional compensation available through the applicable night shift differential.As a Correctional Nurse, you will work alongside correctional officers and a multidisciplinary medical team to provide quality healthcare to an underserved patient population. In this fast-paced, structured environment, you'll perform assessments, administer medications, manage chronic conditions, respond to urgent medical needs, and make a meaningful impact on patients with complex healthcare needs.No two days are the same in correctional healthcare. Duties and responsibilities may include and not be limited to:Performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems, medication historyTaking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and weightProviding wound care, including cleaning and bandaging injured areasAdministering medication, including injections of medications and monitoring reaction to medsMaintaining medical records, including entering information into our electronic health record, TechCareObserving patient health and mental health statusProviding emergency first aidProviding patient education and discharge/release planningQualificationsExperience / Requirements / QualificationsGraduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing programHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED)Actively state-certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical NurseMust possess an active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association required)Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationDisplay integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirementsMust pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screeningPhysical Capabilities: Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.NaphCare is one of the largest providers of healthcare services to correctional facilities throughout the US, and we are growing.
