This person is responsible for assisting physicians while providing treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions. This critical role assists in managing the facility as a supervisor.

Requirements Current NY RN license in good standing

Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to plan organize and implement policies and procedure

Minimum 2 years’ experience as in a health care facility- hospital or nursing facility preferred

Evidence of basic leadership skills and supervision

Responsibilities Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing staff in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.

Perform administrative duties such as completing reports, evaluations, charting, IV therapy, discharge planning and accidents/incident reports as necessary. Collaborate with physician(s), resident's/patient's and family in planning resident's/patient's care, treatment, rehabilitation, etc. Monitor nursing care to assure that all residents are treated fairly, and with kindness, dignity, and respect. Sets priorities in meeting the needs of resident's.

Ensure that established policies and procedures, including dress codes and ID badges are followed by all department personnel. Assist in providing education on units as assigned.

Collaborate with support departments on an on-going basis to ensure a positive new admission or transfer experience, such as, room readiness, medical information transfer, and resident/patient personal belongings. Ensure that communication occurs between shifts on status on new admissions and transfers.

Make rounds of patients/residents to ensure needs are adequately met. Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity. Keep Unit Manager/ Director informed of the status of residents and other related matters through written/oral reports.
