DAY SHIFT - 6am - 6pm

Holidays - 1.5x pay for working holidays

Observes resident physical, mental, and emotional status and reports any changes.

• Reads and follows service plans, attends meetings, and reviews daily reports in the interest of resident care.
• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living, such as bathing, personal hygiene, dressing, walking, transferring, and turning.
• Applies minor first-aid measures such as compresses, ice, and heat as directed by a nurse.
• Assists with meal service, prepares or examines food trays for prescribed diet, feeds residents, and records food intake when required.
• Responds to resident inquiries and directs to the appropriate person as needed.
• Responds promptly and appropriately to emergency situations.
• May assist with housekeeping duties, including removing garbage, making beds, cleaning apartments, and washing, drying, and putting away laundry.
• May obtain and record resident vital signs and weight.
• May collect samples from residents for testing, such as sputum, urine, stool, and/or blood.
• Practice basic infection control with linens, hand washing, and in all other aspects of delivery of resident care.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident, community, employee, and company information.
• Maintain working knowledge of fire and disaster plans and responsibilities under emergency conditions.
• Must satisfy all state health, licensure/certification, and background requirements.

Education/Experience: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. At least 6 months of related work experience or training is preferred.

Certificates and Licenses: Must complete CPR and First Aid certifications if not current, PLUS have an Active Home Care Aid and or Active Certified Nursing Assistant certification.

Communicate effectively in person, over the phone, or via email with customers and co-workers.

Computer Skills: May require proficiency with computers to participate in training and/or other assigned tasks.

Constantly stands and walks around the community, interacting with residents, coworkers, and others. Frequently communicates with others to exchange information in person, and over the phone, and must be capable of effective communication in these situations. Occasionally moves items weighing up to 25 pounds and may assist in transferring residents weighing more than 100 pounds. This position is most frequently situated inside of a climate-controlled assisted living community, with a low to moderate noise level. In certain circumstances, a staff member may be exposed to communicable diseases and infections, other biological hazards, and various drugs and chemicals. Due to these potential hazardous exposures, you may be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in addition to universal precautions.
