Schedule
Night shift 3x12-hour schedule (19:00 - 07:30) with rotating holidays and weekends.
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Oncology Registered Nurse to join our team in a 12-bed unit specializing in Oncology, Thoracic, and Bariatric surgery. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate care to patients while ensuring adherence to treatment protocols and managing complex patient needs.
Responsibilities
Administer chemotherapy and manage treatment regimens.
Monitor and assess patient conditions and responses to treatments.
Educate patients and their families regarding cancer care and management.
Caring for patients with various diagnoses including breast cancer, lung cancer, and multiple myeloma.
Perform necessary procedures including managing chest tubes and handling central lines.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including IV teams and social services, to support patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Oncology setting preferred.
Chemotherapy certification required (ONS/ONCC).
BLS certification required.
Current RN license in VA or compact license.
Experience in using Meditech charting system preferred.
