Dietitian Position at Avera St Mary's HospitalWorker Type: RegularWork Shift: Day Shift (United States of America)Pay Range: $28.00 - $42.00Position HighlightsThis dietitian provides nutritional counseling and consultation to Healthy Start program participants, focusing on maternal pregnancy and postpartum nutrition as well as infant feeding. The dietitian will complete program-related nutrition evaluations, and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary program team, will be responsible for education and resource planning. This dietitian will also provide group-based nutrition education on nutrition during pregnancy, postpartum and infant/toddler stages. A Brief Overview The dietitian is responsible for the nutritional care of the patient within an assigned area of practice.What You Will DoPerforms an accurate assessment within a timely manner of the patient's nutritional status including, but not limited to: obtaining and interpreting information in terms of the patient's nutritional needs, patient/family level of knowledge, ability and readiness to learn about nutrition requirements, cultural/religious needs, and physical/mental limitations.Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific factors and performs satisfactorily related to patient's age, infant through geriatrics, as noted on unit specific guidelines and competencies.Plans the delivery of medical nutrition therapy and implements an individualized outcomes based nutritional care plan specific to patient's needs with clearly defined, measurable goals.Demonstrates ability to provide medical nutrition therapy to patients/family based on assessment needs.Ensures continuity of nutrition care through communication with relevant care providers at mission and discharge.Helps to effectively transition patients to a new care environment.Documents all phases of the nutrition care process in a complete and concise manner.
