The Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) is responsible for performing inspections, calibrations, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of medical and non-medical support equipment, including but not limited to medical package tools, generators, and environmental control units. The BMET ensures all work is conducted in compliance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) guidance, DoD instructions, applicable regulations, and unit directives. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to established procedures to maintain equipment reliability and operational readiness.Responsibilities: Essential Job Functions:Must follow original equipment manufacturer guidance, AFI, regulations and unit directionPerform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and calibration of biomedical equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulationsDiagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in medical devices, performing necessary repairs or coordinating with vendors for service when requiredMaintain detailed service records, documenting repairs, maintenance actions, and performance evaluationsAssist in the installation and configuration of new biomedical equipment, ensuring proper functionalityPerform other duties as assignedQualifications: Necessary Skills and Knowledge:Basic knowledge of biomedical equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems related to medical devices.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical manuals and safety guidelines.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.Effective communication skills to provide technical support and document service activities.Minimum Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalentMust have graduated from the DoD Biomedical Maintenance Course, an accredited civilian Biomedical Maintenance Course, or the Planmecca digital dental courseMinimum 2 years of field experience in performing initial inspections, calibrations, diagnostics, general maintenance, and repair of medical equipment within Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidanceMust be able to pass client background screening for security clearanceTravel may be required for this positionPreferred Qualifications:Associate or bachelor degree in a related field, preferredPay and Benefits: At Goldbelt, we value and reward our team's dedication and hard work.
