The Sheeter/Cutter Operator efficiently performs set‑up and operates a machine that cuts rolls up to 59" of paper stock into sheets of a specific size and quantity. Duties are performed while standing or walking next to the cutter on the floor or scaffold areas, walking on and working from scaffolds up to 7‑8 ft. high. Operators frequently use roll pushers to move rolls weighing approximately 1,400‑5,600+ lbs and mechanical or electrical hand pallet jacks to lift and move pallets or skids with up to 1,500 lbs of product.

Shifts

5 AM-1 PM, 1 PM-9 PM, and 9 PM-5 AM

Responsibilities

Order confirmation to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Set‑up and effective operation of the precision cutter.

Follow pre‑production, make‑ready, and production‑run tasks and instructions.

Cross‑train as assigned.

Equipment

Powered equipment used: Guillotine Cutter, powered screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, compressed air hoses, powered and assisted lifting devices, clamp forklift, scissor or man lifts, hand jacks, elevator sorting/staging platform, scanning devices and bar‑code readers, keyboard, and touch computers.

Required Qualifications

Previous sheeter (roll tender) experience preferred.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and read metric measurements.

Basic English reading, speaking, and understanding.

Familiarity with machines and tools, their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.

Computer proficiency.

Troubleshooting experience.

Understanding of the USA dating system.

Knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.

Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

Rapid and accurate comparison of letters, numbers, objects, pictures, and patterns.

Comfortable crawling into small spaces around the cutter to set up and monitor rollers.

Lifting 10‑15 pounds continuously, up to 50 pounds occasionally, standing long hours up to 12‑hour shift, using hands and wrists continuously, following instructions, and using vision to identify defects.

Good vision, including peripheral and depth perception, and ability to pass a color vision test.

Willingness to work overtime and on weekends when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Machine repair and maintenance experience.

Raw material inventory management experience.

Benefits

Competitive starting wage between $17.50 and $19.50 per hour, with increases based on experience. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may include overtime and shift differentials.
