System Safety Engineering

We're currently looking for a Safety Engineer to join our growing team of engineering and ergonomics professionals. Thorough knowledge of state and national OHSA laws and Codes of Practice, corporate safety programs for manufacturing applied safety experience and knowledge of ergonomic assessment tools

Experience working in automotive, furniture, chemical and/or aerospace manufacturing team environments

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Act as a Subject Matter Expert in the field of Safety Engineering, particularly in evaluating design of new products, equipment and facilities.

• Conduct Risk Assessments on various machinery and tooling
• Conduct, facilitate or advise as necessary in Machinery and Equipment Design Reviews and/or buy-offs
• Provide specific health and safety training on various safety topics, as required
• Technical consultant and advisor in technical and non-technical safety topics, including local and national safety regulations
• Coordinate implementation and continuous improvement in safety programs
• Must present the knowledge, confidence and ability to take immediate and appropriate action when an "imminent risk of serious injury" has been identified
• Work in cooperation with union Health and Safety Representatives to achieve objectives

Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, a related discipline or CSP certification

• Proficient using Microsoft Suite
• 20% to 25% travel
• 2-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
