Material Handler - 3rd ShiftStart: immediately in Pleasant Prairie, WI / United States Permanent position, Full-timeReporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Material Handler will be responsible for transporting products, packaging, and equipment through facility with the use of material handling equipment. (I.e. pallet jack, forklift) and distributes them within the facility. The Material Handler serves as the SAP subject matter expert in the packaging area on this shift assigned. The Material Handler will partner with support functions to identify and resolve unplanned downtime events, quality, safety, cost, and other losses attributed to the area, using problem solving techniques and a continuous improvement mindset.Responsibilities:Responsible for incoming and outgoing materials for the areas assigned, ensuring timely and accurate entry into SAP.Serves as the SAP subject matter expert, training, and coaching others on the system requirements.This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.Operates forklift and/or pallet jacks during routine performance of duties.Receives, inspects, and stages raw materials, scrap, packaging materials, chemicals, and other supplies into the assigned area, completing SAP entries as necessary.Removes finished products from the production areas ensuring proper identification, banding, and labeling to meet customer specifications, completing SAP entries as necessary.Reviews production planning schedule to determine materials needed on the areas supported.Ensures finished goods are properly documented for shipment.Stages and loads finished goods and materials in accordance with warehouse and production planning schedule.Coordinates all processed scrap materials at bins and hoppers. Bands and stores materials. Loads trucks as necessary.Conducts inspection of and routine preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.Conducts inspection of materials used for packaging and inspects trailers and air bags.Resolve any changes in product flow, equipment malfunctions, shortages, or deviations from specifications, escalating issues to the Production Supervisor, maintenance or other operators as necessary.Communicates pertinent information to next shift.Performs clean-up and other housekeeping duties proactively.Ability to handle stress and to interact with others to establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment and minimize personal conflicts.Recognizes waste streams and minimizes waste generation, through prudent use of materials, proper disposal and segregation as directed during training. Understands and practices proper accumulation and storage requirements for wastes.Complies with environmental regulations when using, dispensing, or handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials and wastes.Responsible for training and coaching others in the assigned areas.Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent (HSED or GED) required.Minimum of one (1) year of working experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.Requires computer skills with basic knowledge of Microsoft programs such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. SAP a plus.Requires basic mathematical skills to be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide, work with percentages, and have basic knowledge of algebra as well as make fine adjustments in equipment settings.Must be able to operate electric or manual pallet jacks and forklift.Preferred Qualifications:Must be flexible with work scheduling as well as overtime.Previous experience working in a food manufacturing plant preferred.Employment at HARIBO of America, Inc. is subject to post offer, pre-employment drug testing.
