Corporate Controller
Atlantic Lift Systems is a family-owned general equipment rental company serving Virginia and Eastern North Carolina. We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Corporate Controller to lead our financial operations end to end, from day-to-day accounting through reporting, internal controls, and forecasting. Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) end to end
- Own bank reconciliation management and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Lead inventory accounting — track, record, and reconcile stock levels; analyze demand and forecast needs to optimize inventory and minimize excess (a strong inventory background is essential)
- Prepare financial statements and management reports
- Build and maintain internal controls that safeguard company assets
- Drive process improvements across finance and inventory operations
- Serve as the primary contact for external auditors during annual audits
- Advise the executive team and keep the company current on accounting regulations Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CMA preferred)
- 5+ years in corporate accounting, including experience as a Controller or in a similar role
- Strong command of GAAP and double-entry bookkeeping fundamentals
- Strong inventory accounting background
- Advanced Excel skills — comfortable building and maintaining complex spreadsheets, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and formula-driven reconciliations and reporting (e.g., building a monthly inventory reconciliation, a budget-vs-actual variance report, or a cash-flow forecast in Excel)
