Assist intermediaries and prospective members with their mortgage lending needs in an efficient, accurate, and professional manner. This includes but is not limited to answering general questions, pre-qualification, new loan origination, maintaining an active pipeline, proactively seeking new loan prospects, and processing support.
Proactively solicit mortgage referrals from internal sources (branches, member services, new business development, etc...) and act as subject matter expert on 1st mortgages for new and existing members.
Review/Follow up on all 1st mortgage loan referrals, and originate 1st mortgage loans via telephone sales presentations as well as face to face as needed, always taking complete loan applications.
Work with loan processors and underwriters, as well as realtors and title attorneys to build teamwork through communication.
Meet all loan production, service, and quality goals through proactive and responsive self-sourcing as well as pipeline management activities.
Conduct and participate in mortgage related promotional events, activities, and seminars, and maintain a strong working knowledge of current trends, compliance requirements, and other industry changes.
Educational and work experience requirements

Must have documented current loan referral sources
Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in applying credit risk principles to lending recommendations.
Understanding of financial services related products and overall financial services operations.
Ability to routinely work Saturdays.
Fluent in English required and Spanish preferred.
Employee will be in an office environment (well-lighted, heated, and air-conditioned) typically stationed at a desk or table. Clerical office duties on various forms of technology are required. All positions that have lending responsibilities must comply with all requirements under the SAFE ACT, as well as the Credit Union's policies and procedures related to the SAFE ACT. This includes an obligation on the employee's part to ensure that NMLA registration pertaining to the SAFE ACT is kept current. The employee must notify the Credit Union within 30 days of any changes that need to be reflected on the NMLS registry.
