Field Archaeologists - IMMEDIATE NEED

Job Summary
WSP’s Cultural Resources Management Team has an immediate opening for On‑Call Field Archaeologists to work on a long‑term Phase III archaeological data recovery project at five multi‑component Pre‑Contact sites. The position is hourly and is open to candidates located in Arkansas, Missouri, eastern Oklahoma, and eastern Kansas, though all qualified applicants will be considered.
Responsibilities Assist with multiple Phase III data recovery projects, with additional work at Phase I and II levels: conduct archaeological test units and shovel‑test excavations;
excavate cultural features;
recover and identify archaeological artifacts and other materials;
use archaeological field forms to record data, including artifact counts, soil color (Munsell) and texture, and other relevant information.

Work effectively as part of a team;
Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies;
Strictly abide by WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
Minimum Qualifications Undergraduate degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field;
Archaeological field school or equivalent field experience;
Self‑motivated and physically able to conduct all aspects of fieldwork in all weather conditions, following instructions.
Preferred Qualifications Prior experience with Pre‑Contact archaeological sites in Arkansas, eastern Oklahoma, and surrounding regions;
Experience in Pre‑Contact lithic artifact identification and analysis.
