Nursing Paramedic / Emergency Department / Part Time

Now offering new competitive rates for Paramedics, along with clinical shift differentials, in our EMS Division and Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) Program, with full-time, part-time, and per diem opportunities available.Provides Mobile Integrated Health Paramedic Services providing emergency medical care in the pre-hospital environment according to Paramedic Protocols and Policies approved by SSHS and the ALS system Medical Director. Performs other duties related to the provision of care and development of the community EMS system. Assists in the Hospital as assigned after appropriate credentialing.
7 and Chapter 90, Sections 7, 13, 14, 16 and 17 regarding emergency driving.
Parks vehicle in areas designed by local fire or police, or in a safe area if not directed.
Completes documentation and records according to department policy.

Run report data will be entered into computer database accurately.
The vehicle/equipment checklist will be completed on every shift.
Patient refusals will be documented as they occur completing a trip sheet and refusal form.
Narcotics will be signed off per policy.
Ensures vehicle and equipment are ready for response at all times.

Knows location and proper use of equipment.
Restocks vehicle and equipment within 30 minutes following run.
Reports damaged or unsafe equipment to Director upon problem identification.
Renders pre-hospital medical care at the paramedic level.

Adheres to Region IV treatment protocols and procedures and carries out medical control's orders within own scope of practice.
Performs assigned duties in the emergency department under the supervision of the ED physicians.

Performs only those techniques within scope of training, under direction of Medical Control Physician.
Assists with 12 Lead EKGs, blood draws, IV insertions.
Charts skills done in-house according to appropriate policy.
Acts as a team leader in dealing with emergency responses.

Demonstrates ability to control emergency scenes.
Directs EMTs and other medical personnel on scene in the patient's best interest.
Interacts with local EMTs and public safety, fire and police in a spirit of cooperation and professionalism.
Takes proper care of vehicle and equipment.

Prevents loss or damage of equipment by careful handling and storage.
Maintains equipment and vehicle according to policy.
Participates in community activities which improve the public's understanding of the EMS system.

Represents South Shore Health & Educational Corporation and the Department of Paramedic Services to the public in a positive, professional manner.
Completes Hospital at Home Admission Process while using In patient platform of EPIC. Primary in home care giver partnered with Virtual nursing.
Collaborate with Hospital at Home Hospitalist and Virtual Nurses.
I Stat/ Ultrasound guided IV Competencies.
Participate in team huddles related to Hospital at Home
Participate in Hospital at Home related training and staff meetings
Remote Patient monitoring set up and trouble shooting.
Provides Hospital At Home Education to patients and their families in the hospital at home setting.
High School diploma or equivalent

Minimum Work Experience

Prior experience as a provider of pre-hospital care in an emergency setting
Critical care experience preferred/ALS transfers
EMT- P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic
Moderate word processing, database, presentation and spreadsheet skills required. Ability to learn specific job related software applications. Must maintain a high degree of academic and practical knowledge in emergency paramedicine, and must attend sufficient continuing education classes, courses and seminars both on and off duty to maintain annual paramedic certification, as required by the State of Massachusetts
