Head of Services/Operations

Reporting to the Vice President, Gas Turbine Services, this mission-critical role leads the day-to-day operations, growth, and profitability of our Dallas, TX - based combustion turbine component repair business unit. The Operations Director will own the repair shop’s safety, quality, throughput, cost, and customer outcomes while building a best-in-class, scalable operation. The successful candidate will partner closely with the business unit’s founder, who remains actively engaged in a mentoring and customer-facing capacity, to absorb deep technical and customer knowledge and ensure long-term continuity of the relationships and expertise that define the business. Collaborate with management team members across all related functional areas to meet customer demand and quality expectations. Participate in the development of short and long-term business plans to capitalize on business segment potential
Create and manage key performance indicators in driving optimal performance levels in all areas of production
Manage an annual budget to support the anticipated repair services volume in collaboration with executive leadership team members
Leverage general operations support functions, including Purchasing and Finance, to maximize operational capabilities
Partner with Safety and Human Resources to create and maintain a highly engaged service team culture that achieves elevated performance objectives consistently
Create and deliver executive reporting on team results and key performance indicators
Prepare plans for capital improvements to support longer-range planning objectives for growth and expanded repair capabilities within market segments
Meet customer quality standards and thresholds through collaborative leadership with the Engineering team
Support the Commercial and Sales team in guiding technical capabilities, customer presentations, and visits, along with marketing strategy
Own and continuously improve the end-to-end repair processes for combustion and hot gas path components, including but not limited to incoming inspection and evaluation, weld and braze repair, machining, coatings, heat treatment, and final inspection to consistently meet technical, quality, and turnaround requirements
Serve as a technical authority for the shop, applying knowledge of frame gas turbine component wear and failure modes to drive repair method selection, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement in collaboration with Engineering
Partner with the founder to capture and transfer critical technical, customer, and supplier knowledge, building team capability and ensuring business continuity over time.
Champion quality management and HSE compliance across the shop, maintaining the certifications, process controls, and documentation standards expected in turbine component repair
Working knowledge of industrial frame gas turbine combustion and hot gas path components (e.g., buckets/blades, nozzles/vanes, transition pieces, combustion liners, and baskets), including their function and service environment
cracking, oxidation, corrosion, creep, thermal fatigue, coating loss) and the corresponding repair and restoration processes
Familiarity with core repair and restoration processes such as welding and brazing, machining, thermal spray and other coatings, heat treatment, and dimensional and non-destructive inspection
Proven success in leading and developing teams, building a culture of engagement, accountability, and success
P&L or budget management experience and the business acumen to translate operational performance into financial results
Working knowledge of quality management systems and HSE requirements in a manufacturing or repair environment
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, business, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
Direct experience with General Electric and/or Westinghouse legacy frame fleets (e.g., Demonstrated experience running a shop or manufacturing operations, with full accountability for safety, quality, schedule, throughput, and cost.
Track record of scaling a repair or manufacturing operation and expanding capabilities through capital investment
Lean, Six Sigma, or comparable continuous improvement experience
Comfort working directly with customers in a technical sales or account support capacity
