Head of Engineering and Project Management

Saber Power Services , a portfolio company of Greenbelt Capital Partners, is a fully integrated electrical power system services firm providing end-to-end solutions across utility, renewables and battery storage, industrial, petrochemical, and other markets. Based in Houston, Texas, Saber Power offers deep subject matter expertise and uses an engineering-led approach to designing, installing, testing, and maintaining medium and high-voltage electrical infrastructure. Project Manager
We are seeking a Project Manager to oversee and direct all phases of high-voltage substation and transmission projects. This includes planning, execution, and completion of projects in alignment with contract specifications, timelines, and budgets. Successful candidates may be placed in Project Manager I or II titles based on experience and education.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the management of substation and transmission line projects. The individual must be experienced in overseeing all aspects of project delivery, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and resource allocation. The role will coordinate with multi‑disciplinary teams, clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are executed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Project Planning & Execution: Manage the project life cycle from initial concept to final delivery, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.

Contract & Budget Management: Develop, manage, and control project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met while maintaining adherence to contract terms. Work with the finance team to ensure accurate project cost forecasting.

Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams. Provide regular project updates and prepare detailed reports on project status, risks, and opportunities.

Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies and escalated where appropriate.

Quality Control & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, quality standards, and safety requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Strategy & Decision-Making: Provide strategic input on project planning and delivery. Contribute to high‑level decisions that influence project outcomes and long‑term client relationships.

Contribute to the development of best practices, tools, and methodologies for improving project management processes across the organization.

Perform other job‑related duties as requested by management.

Bachelors degree in Finance, Project Management, or Construction Management is required; Minimum 3 years of relevant project management experience, including significant experience with high-voltage substation and/or transmission line projects within an EPC environment.

Hands‑on experience with grid integration, energy storage technologies, and energy management systems is preferred.

Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is preferred.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Proven ability to manage complex, multi‑disciplinary projects.

In‑depth knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems, substations, and transmission lines.

Advanced project management skills including budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and contract administration.

Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and MS Office Suite.

Occasional travel to project sites may be required.
