The Associate Staff Attorney is a remote position that will primarily handle designated tasks relative to pending claims and litigation in Northern Illinois . This position will be part of collaborative learning environment with onsite appearances in partnership with our Senior Attorney Staff. The team is committed to personal growth as we strive to provide excellent customer service to external and internal partners.
Analyze legal and factual issues, conduct extensive, well-reasoned legal research, with direction develop and present defense strategies on behalf of clients

• Prepare pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motions and briefs in support of defense strategies with supervision
• Responsible for handling litigation tasks and occasional case handling
• Provide effective and timely communication, information, legal advice and other services to clients on legal and factual issues
• With direction prepare and present witnesses evidence at: trials, judicial/administrative hearings, arbitrations and alternative dispute resolutions
• Minimum of 1 year of legal experience is preferred however, we will consider recent graduates that have recently passed the IL State Bar Exam
• Juris Doctorate (JD) from accredited law school and license to practice in the state of IL.
• Functional understanding of claims and litigation is a plus!
• Commitment to providing a high level of customer service
• Excellent legal research and writing skills
• Strong MS Office proficiency (Word, Teams, PowerPoint & Outlook)
• Effective communicator with strong writing and research skills

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role.
