Design Engineering S

A Senior / NPI Engineer is required to support the introduction and industrialisation of advanced additive manufacturing components. This role combines manufacturing engineering, product design optimisation, simulation, and project delivery to ensure complex parts move efficiently from concept through to scalable production.
You will work across design for manufacture, process optimisation, metrology integration, and production support, ensuring high levels of quality, repeatability, and dimensional accuracy in highly engineered components.

New Product Introduction & Manufacturing Engineering

Develop optimal additive manufacturing build strategies including orientation, support structures, and build layouts
Design precision CNC fixtures and collaborate with machining partners (internal and external)
Develop metrology strategies using systems such as CMM, CT scanning, optical measurement systems, and 3D inspection tools
Define inspection routines, fixture requirements, and data reporting approaches in collaboration with metrology specialists
Interpret customer drawings and technical requirements
Provide hands-on technical support to manufacturing and operations teams as required

Project & Stakeholder Management

Communicate technical findings and project updates to internal and external stakeholders
Support supplier management and outsourcing coordination to ensure delivery timelines are met
Contribute to cost estimation and NPI project planning activities
Degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD) in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline
Experience in design engineering, manufacturing engineering, or NPI within an industrial environment
Strong proficiency in CAD/CAE tools
Solid understanding of GD&T and technical drawing interpretation
Experience with statistical analysis and interpretation of engineering datasets
Knowledge of quality systems, lean manufacturing principles, and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Highly structured and detail-focused approach to problem solving
Experience in aerospace, automotive, or advanced manufacturing environments
ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation or equivalent)
Knowledge of advanced metrology and inspection techniques
