Step Down Unit SDU / PCU

Branson Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit is similar to a cardiac/neuro tele floor, caring for patients with a higher level of acuity than those on med/surg floors. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-5

Nurses care for patients requiring BiPAP initiation, Optiflow, cardiac gtts, and insulin gtts.

These include patients with stroke, STEMI/NSTEMI, cardiac, respiratory, renal conditions, and ETOH patients on telemetry.

Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management.Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
