RN- Health Care (Full-Time

Full time (Monday - Friday, day shift), no nights, no on-call, no weekends, no holidays

The Nurse Navigator is a registered nurse RN who possesses advanced knowledge and skill in the area of cardiac nursing. Handles confidential information regarding patient records. Operates and analyzes telemetry cardiac monitors, exercise equipment and patient evaluation tools. May be required to make critical decisions concerning the initiative of emergency medical procedures. Assists in the daily operations of the outpatient heart failure clinic.
Documents patient treatment regularly and accurately according to departmental policy.
Assists with inpatient heart failure patient care optimization.
Initiates advanced cardiac life support measures according to SAMC protocols in the event of a cardiac emergency.
Performs miscellaneous job duties as assigned in the absence of the nurse manager or supervisor.
Maintains a flexible working schedule to allow for clinic coverage.

Graduate of an approved school for registered nurses and current state required license to practice nursing. Certification as a heart failure nurse preferred (CHFN)

Minimal three years' experience as a RN with 1-2 years' experience working with cardiac patients, preferably on a telemetry unit or coronary care unit required. Has been directly involved in education and care of patients with coronary heart disease, including heart failure.

Current Registered Nurse license to practice nursing in the State of employment
