Training Travel Requirement

This role requires weekly travel from Salt Lake City, UT to Simi Valley, CA for training during the first three months of employment. Training occurs Monday through Friday, three weeks per month. Travel, lodging, meals, and ground transportation will be provided. After the training period, the position is based in Salt Lake City, UT.

The Quality Engineer (QE) III is accountable for the overall delivered quality of products and/or services to customers and ensures quality controls are met. The QE engages Continuous Improvement (CI) resources to identify and eliminate cost drivers, flow disruptions, and implements visual factory KPI metrics. The Quality Engineer will have either Customer Quality or Product Quality responsibilities, in addition to the general responsibilities outlined.

Coordinate work with Quality Technicians and inspectors as necessary

Perform training on BMS procedures with workforce, as required; Drive corrective action and failure analysis in a timely manner

Participate in Product Readiness Reviews (PRR) and coordinate Final Inspection activities

Provide guidance and assistance in quality enhancement strategies and interpretation of workmanship criteria

Perform process capability analysis on key characteristics; implement Inspection and Quality Plans

Conduct internal audit activities, including quality management systems, purchasing, contract review process, and manufacturing

Drive trend improvements on internal & external quality to support strategic business objectives

Resolve a wide range of issues creatively while applying company policies and procedures

Address problems of diverse scope where data analysis requires evaluation of identifiable factors

Ensure product acceptance criteria reflect the customer’s definition of fitness for use

Correspond with customer representatives to ensure a thorough understanding of their needs and expectations

Review engineering specifications to ensure inclusion of adequate quality and reliability requirements

Reduce defects in processes through data analysis and team problem‑solving

Review customer contracts and purchase orders to identify requirements and flow down new customer requirements to all functions

Review new product integration (NPI) customer specifications to flow down requirements and ensure compliance

Act as liaison for development & LRIP areas on matters related to NPI process & first article inspection

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Ability to communicate with customers and suppliers to resolve process gaps and apply specified requirements cost‑effectively

Knowledge of dimensional inspection measurement systems and application for complex products – full understanding of ASME Y14.expertise in mechanical inspection methods

Ability to collect, compile and analyze data using Six Sigma methods and techniques to determine root causes and required corrective actions

Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel)
