Job Description We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to own and elevate supplier quality performance. The role involves validating process capability and measurement systems, auditing quality systems, and leading continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers. The successful candidate will drive data‑driven improvements, manage root cause analysis (RCA), corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve non‑conformances.

Responsibilities Onboard suppliers and communicate KLA supplier quality requirements.

Perform supplier risk assessments and create performance indicator control plans.

Drive development of quality inputs and resolve known quality issues for new product introductions.

Implement product conformance reviews, first‑article inspection (FAI), and KPCS process control data for new products and suppliers.

Prepare supplier quality performance data for business reviews.

Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering on RCCA for non‑conformances.

Generate and maintain supplier and internal quality scorecards.

Work with cross‑functional teams to ensure high quality standards from suppliers.

Travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.

Qualifications Proven experience in supplier quality engineering, preferably in optics, photonics, or precision engineering environments.

Hands‑on experience supporting optical component suppliers (lenses, mirrors, coatings, laser systems, or alignment‑critical assemblies).

Ability to read, interpret, and validate optical specifications, including tolerances, surface quality, and performance requirements.

Experience applying RCCA, CAPA, and 8‑D methodologies in high‑precision or optics‑driven manufacturing.

Deep understanding of process capability, measurement systems, and inspection methods for precision/optical components.

Experience working with global suppliers and driving measurable quality improvements.

Domestic and international travel of 30%–40% required.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with 8 years’ work experience, OR Master’s degree with 6 years’, OR PhD with 3 years’ experience, or equivalent.
