The Quality Engineer develops and improves inspection processes that ensure the quality and reliability of Beck’s machined components and electro-mechanical assemblies. This role supports manufacturing, engineering, and supplier quality through expertise in inspection methods, GD&T, CMM programming, and fixture design. The position works cross-functionally to solve quality challenges, evaluate new technologies, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, efficiency, and operational performance.

Responsible for developing and maintaining effective and efficient inspection processes to support the Quality Assurance department with inspecting a wide variety of machined components and electro-mechanical assemblies.
Responsible for keeping inspection processes current and optimized.
Review new product designs for inspection requirements.
Troubleshoot inspection issues timely and effectively.
Assist engineering with testing and evaluation of new designs and modifications.
Generate inspection programs for coordinate measuring machines.
Research and prepare cost / benefit analysis of capital equipment.
Responsible for monitoring emerging technologies and evaluating their fit and potential benefit to Quality Assurance operations.
Interact with other departments and outside suppliers in support of operations.

Professional and Personal Requirements:
Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a production manufacturing environment.
Must have a strong working knowledge of GD&T and inspection methodologies.
Must have experience with designing inspection fixtures using SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and SPC preferred.
Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite to create documentation, spreadsheets, and databases to support inspection operations.
Must have proven professional qualities including strong initiative, integrity, and the desire / ability to work in a team environment.
Must possess a good mechanical aptitude.
Must have the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Must promote and ensure a safe working environment by demonstrating consistent adherence to Beck safety policies.
Four year bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering from an ABET accredited program is required.

Use keyboard and read from computer, screen and reports.
Work environment includes regular exposure to manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and hearing protection.
