Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level 2 NICU position requiring an active NY license, EPIC experience, and the ability to attend high-risk deliveries and C-sections
Details

• Level 2 NICU unit focused on Women's Health services rather than critical care, caring for neonates 29-34 weeks and above
• 3x12 hour Day/Night rotating shift schedule (0700-1900 / 1900-0700)
• Rotating weekend coverage required
• Some floating to Postpartum unit for baby care required
• Must attend high-risk deliveries and be able to perform baby catch in the OR for C-section cases
• 8-week contract length with possible extension

Requirements
Active NY RN license required in hand prior to consideration
BLS and NRP certifications required
Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
EPIC charting experience required
Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, UAC/UVC care, and administration of blood/blood products and emergency medications
Experience with neonatal dosage calculations, surfactant administration, and antibiotics/antivirals
Proficient in ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), Bubble CPAP, HFNC, and ETT/NT suctioning
Experience with APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, developmental care, and neurologic assessment
Skilled in blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, and phototherapy for hyperbilirubinemia
Experience with feeding methods (bottle, breast, gavage) and NG/NJ tube placement/management
Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE, neonatal sepsis workup, and infectious disease protocols
Experience assisting with lumbar puncture and managing neonatal abstinence syndrome
Additional Information
Provide comprehensive neonatal care including patient/family teaching and breastfeeding support
Assist with high-risk deliveries and emergency neonatal resuscitation as needed

Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
Previous staff must have completed at least 6 months since last assignment system-wide
