Registered Nurse - Telemetry
This is a brand new medical surgical/telemetry unit for a growing facility. Common patient types include sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, and pneumonia. Occasionally, the unit will see post-operative overflow cases such as total joints (knees, hips, shoulders) and GI/abdominal surgeries (hemicolectomies, bowel resections, etc.). Patient ratios are RN: 1:5-6 and CNA: 2 per shift, unless the census does not require it. Support on the unit includes a charge nurse, a Health Unit Coordinator/Secretary during the day shift, and in-house phlebotomy services. RNs may also draw CVL/PICC/Midline lines. A Hospitalist is available in-house for most patients. The unit employs Alaris pumps for IV management and Pyxis for medication dispensing. Travelers may float to any medical-surgical area within the hospital. Scheduling includes a mandatory weekend rotation every other week, working 4 days one week and 3 days the next. Requests for time off are limited to 7 days, and only one weekend of time off can be requested per contract period. Travelers will be expected to work 2 or 3 holidays during the contract. Jackets must be gray or black, and badges must be worn above the waist in full view at all times.
