We believe everything you do outside of work adds to who you are at work.NOTE: This role is hybrid and requires 3 days a week in our Walnut Creek, CA office.The Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of world-class programs for the Learning and Development team. This role will continuously improve learning programs using an array of creative approaches that drive productivity and innovation.This role will consult and lead several projects for Learning and Development across departments with numerous stakeholders, subject matter experts and/or business partners, to create exceptional content focused on adult learning and business results. Must be an exceptional instructional designer, creative e-learning expect and able to mentor other learning professionals.Essential FunctionsDesign creative, innovative, and scalable programs for all levels using adult learning theories and methodologies (such as ADDIE, SAM, AGILE)Develop course materials that use an array of different media to produce materials that promote learning through self-study, practice, performance support, and socialization and knowledge sharingEvaluate solutions and programs for quality, business impact, and scalability, leverage technology to extend access and provide just in time learningProduce training material(s) using rapid development tools and processDevelop assessment instruments to measure learner acceptance, comprehension, and application of processes and systems knowledgeDevelop effective learning experiences leveraging a variety of media, such as video and audio clips, online interactivity, simulations, and illustrations and diagramsCreate user experience goals, priorities, and deliverables that align with product milestones, coordinate multiple projects to completion, and drive adoption of user experience practicesEstablish project plans and leads teams in the development of new learning content by managing completion of milestones and deliverablesLeads others and participates in the design of curriculum, instruction, and assessment materials using knowledge of current trends and best practices in learning and developmentLead and manage learning solution design, measurement strategy, and project managementConduct needs analysis with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to define instructional objectives, business outcomes, and overall requirements of learning solutionsFacilitate engaging instructor-led experiences effectively across a range of learners and contentEvaluate impact and efficiency of training- through formal and informal metrics— and identification of opportunities to inform work, refinements and strategyKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesKnowledgeable and functional in technical writing, including consistent and correct use of tense, grammar/spelling and terminology that is interesting and variedKnowledgeable of new learning approaches, technology and tools through continuous researchAbility to collaborate on design and development projects as part of a team using consultative, and project management skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and maintain consistent delivery on commitments while working effectively in an environment that is constantly changingAbility to communicate difficult concepts and processes using clear and simple language and visuals with individuals, small groups and in front of large audiences at all levels of the organizationFamiliarity with mobile design guidelines for iOS and AndroidAbility to grasp the essence of complex design problems and user pain points, and translate them to practical design solutionsAbility to accept and design against feedback from colleagues in a rapid iterative design process, and effectively produce multiple work products under tight timelineEducation & Experience / Licenses & CertificationBachelor’s degree in Curriculum Development, Education, Organizational Development or business required (Master’s Degree preferred) from an accredited college/university5+ years of experience as an instructional designer or Learning & Development Program manager with demonstrated proficiency in designing, building and deploying instructor and e-learning modules5+ years facilitating different corporate groups in workshop and/or training experiencesHave a deep understanding of learning technologies including eLearning authoring tools and learning management systemsExperience with multimedia and web design technologies including video conferencing/webinar technologiesAdvanced to intermediate experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Apps, Microsoft Office Suite, Photo-editing software, MS PowerPoint, Graphic Design software, Photoshop, Illustrator, Presentation applicationsAdvanced to intermediate experience with online, eLearning, and Rapid Development Software such as Articulate, Captivate, or CamtasiaWork Environment/Physical RequirementsWorks in an office environment sitting at a desk, table or computer workstation for extended periods of time. May travel by car, plane or other form of transportation to execute training, attend business meetings or conferences. Approximately 50-80 percent of the time spent on the job involves the use of a personal computer.#LI-OH1We target between minimum and midpoint of the range, and all offers are subject to a fair pay analysis - Compensation Range: Min: $110,387.00 - Mid: $137,983.00
