JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER (FULL TIME)

San Bernardino County - Plumbers
Responsibilities: Plumbers install, maintain, inspect, and repair plumbing equipment/components that carry water, gas, sewage, fuel, oxygen, and other systems located in and around hospital, commercial, and industrial buildings; perform miscellaneous pipe and drainage work; and utilize various plumbing trade tools. Additional duties include planning and laying out alterations and new plumbing systems; reading and interpreting building plans, blueprints, sketches, and piping diagrams; estimating labor and material costs for plumbing jobs; and maintaining accurate records of time for labor, materials, equipment, and work status.

Conditions of Employment
Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must pass a background check, including fingerprinting, pre-employment physical/drug test, and verification of employment history prior to appointment.

Physical Requirements: This position requires lifting of heavy objects, working in confined spaces and squatting, climbing, kneeling, bending, and stooping.

License: Travel throughout the county is required. Employees will be required to make provision for transportation. At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing transportation.

Shifts: The County has facilities, including Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, that operate 24/7; work schedule may vary to ensure coverage in case of emergencies.

Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States.

Qualifications
Candidates may qualify through one of the following options:

Option 1: Four (4) years of journey-level, full-time equivalent experience installing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing plumbing components in large institutional, industrial, or hospital buildings.

Option 2: Possession of a Plumbing Journeyman's License issued by LA City, or a C36 Contractor's License issued by the CA Department of Consumer Affairs Contractors State License Board.

Option 3: Successful completion of a formal (minimum 4-year) plumbing apprenticeship program resulting in journey-level status. Indicate apprenticeship provider and dates of the program, including when the apprenticeship was completed on the application.

Note: Residential and food service plumbing experience is not considered qualifying.
