RDA/DENTAL ASSISTANCE

Pay Range: $27.08 - $32.94 Hourly

Integrated Clinical Services (ICS) provides quality health services for people who experience barriers to accessing care. The Dental Program works with many community partners, targeting underserved populations in Multnomah County to ensure access to dental services, including education, prevention and dental treatment. The Dental Assistant (EFDA) is responsible for assisting Dentists and Dental Hygienists in the delivery of dental care to patients.

Provides direct clinical assistance and support to Dentists and Dental Hygienists, performing all aspects of 4‑handed dentistry, including mixing materials, placing rubber dam, and taking study model impressions.

Anticipates provider needs during treatment and keeps the provider informed of all schedule changes, unfilled appointments, and triage emergency patients.

Performs Dental Assisting and expanded functions, including rubber cup prophylaxis, applying sealants, polishing amalgams, placing/removing matrix retainers, removing excess cement, and placing temporary restorations.

Reports necessary repair needs, observes PPE guidelines, and monitors supply (inventory) levels.

Conducts phone follow‑up and documentation for missed patient appointments, acting as liaison with treatment staff and providers.

Possession of a valid certificate of Expanded Function Dental Assistant, including a certification of radiologic proficiency issued by the Oregon State Board of Dental Examiners. (Graduate of an accredited dental assistant program.)

Successful completion of a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association, prerequisite for performing pit and fissure sealants.

Preferred Qualification: One (1) year of responsible dental assistant experience.
