We specialize in Geotechnical, Environmental, Natural Resources, Cultural Resources and Construction Material Testing.SCI is seeking a Staff Geologist to join our Geotechnical Services group in St. You will have the opportunity to apply your geologic skills to projects involving heaving soils, karst features, underground mines; environmental compliance; and forensic investigations, while developing the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities Project planning and coordination including subcontractor procurement, sampling and health and safety plan development, project management support with client and regulatory interfacing

Utility clearance coordination with one call (811) and private utility locators, clients, and contractors

Conduct geological field investigations and data collection

Assist with laboratory testing

Monitoring and oversight of construction projects including deep foundations, ground improvement installation, load testing, and retaining wall construction

Qualifications Experience with Geographical Information System (GIS) field data collection tools(preferred)

Strong oral and technical writing skills(required)

Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record for business travel(required)

Ability to travel out of town for up to 1 week at a time (preferred)

Geotechnical laboratory testing experience (preferred)

Bachelors degree in Geology is required

Advanced degree in Geology is preferred

Additional Information Training: this position requires 40-hour OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm.
