Oregon Episcopal School

Type: Full Time

Technology

Oregon Episcopal School seeks a Mac Systems & AV Administrator to begin duties in August 2026. Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter addressed to Brad Kuhns, Director of Information Technology. Oregon Episcopal School educates students to realize their power for good as engaged citizens of the world.

Founded in 1869, Oregon Episcopal School today occupies a wooded 59-acre campus where 880 students in Pre-K through 12th Grade share an excellent faculty, an inquiry-based curriculum, and a strong sense of community. The Upper School also includes a small boarding program of international and domestic students who live and learn together, enhancing the vibrancy of the school community.

Teaching faculty engage in the Characteristics of Effective Teaching for their ongoing learning in service of students. Together, faculty and staff create a vibrant and diverse community of lifelong learners.

As such, we educate toward a larger purpose - toward inclusion and respect, service and justice, and commitment beyond ourselves.

In an independent school, IT is highly relational. As part of our tight-knit, three-person IT team, you are not just a ticket-closer; you are a visible and valued member of a vibrant campus community.

On the technical side, you will be the primary owner of our Mac fleet, utilizing Jamf Pro to manage device lifecycles, test deployments, and ensure seamless operation for our faculty and students. On the physical and community side, you are our lead for Audio/Visual campus events. This means stepping away from the screen to set up PA systems, troubleshoot projectors, run microphones, and occasionally help arrange spaces (like moving tables or chairs) to ensure school events go off without a hitch.

Because we prioritize our people and educational workflows, we often make exceptions to standard IT processes. The ideal candidate will find this flexibility refreshing rather than frustrating, bringing a patient, low-ego, and problem-solving mindset to everything from complex MDM deployments to clearing a paper jam for a stressed teacher.

The IT Mac OS Device and AV Support provides leadership and support for the technology program at OES. This includes providing direct help to teachers, students, administrative staff, and other divisional staff in their use of technology resources along with essential support for the technology equipment campus-wide.

Mac Administration & MDM (Jamf Pro)

Manage the complete lifecycle of our Mac fleet using Jamf Pro: receiving, tagging, registering, preparing, distributing, patching, and retiring equipment.

Develop testing procedures for OS updates and software deployments with small groups before large-scale campus rollouts.

Organize and maintain our technology equipment workspace and inventory.

Collaborate with the IT Director and Systems Administrator on major technology infrastructure decisions.

Audio/Visual & Event Support

Serve as the primary IT point person for campus events, ensuring the "show goes on."

Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot all installed and mobile AV equipment (microphones, PA speakers, projectors, Apple TVs).

Partner with facilities and other departments to ensure event spaces are fully prepared for presentations and gatherings.

Help Desk & Community Support

Provide empathetic, face-to-face help desk support for students, teachers, and staff, smoothly handling walk-ins alongside ticketing system requests.

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues for laptops, desktops, tablets, and peripherals.

Participate in all employee training, activities, and Technology department meetings.

Act as a secondary support system to the Systems Administrator, gaining exposure to Wi‑Fi maintenance, network configuration, Active Directory, phone systems, and campus security systems.

At least two years of prior experience in Help Desk, User Support, or Systems Administration.

A demonstrated low-ego, service-oriented approach to IT, with the ability to context-switch between deep technical work and immediate user needs.

Ability to work independently to resolve varied computer issues and self-start on projects.

Office hours: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Direct experience managing Apple devices using MDM platforms (Jamf Pro specifically is a massive plus).

Prior experience in a school, higher education, or highly relational community setting.

Ability to sit at a computer and keyboard for extended periods

This is a full-time, year-round position that comes with a generous benefits package. Oregon Episcopal School does not discriminate in its hiring or employment practices on the basis of race, color, religion, gender (including gender identity or expression), disability, national or ethnic origin, age, sexual orientation, marital status, genetic information, or other legally protected characteristic or status.

Oregon Episcopal School educates students to realize their power for good as engaged citizens of the world.

ABOUT US: Oregon Episcopal School occupies a wooded 59 acre campus where 880 students in Pre-K through 12th Grade share an excellent faculty, an inquiry-based curriculum, and a strong sense of community. The School values employees who seek to continually develop the OES Essential Competencies in students and themselves. As such, we educate toward a larger purpose— toward inclusion and respect, service and justice, and commitment beyond ourselves.
