Custodian - Full-Time - Weekend Shift

University Housing & Dining is seeking to hire a Custodian II to provide a safe, clean, and healthy environment in all residence halls. Under general supervision, assigns, reviews, coordinates and inspects custodial activities in the area of assignment in accordance with established guidelines. Receiving written and oral instructions concerning general custodial duties/staff.

Developing work schedules and directing and inspecting daily work routines of other custodial staff.

Assisting in planning procedures and work methods and advising or recommending revisions for the purposes of improving the efficiency of operations and services.

Ability to perform all processes required by the department and use all equipment provided to perform duties.

Maintaining records and inventory of multiple items including but not limited to time records, scheduling, staffing, etc.

Working every 3rd weekend with rotating Tuesdays and Thursdays off. May work occasional overtime to cover absences and peak periods of operation.

Knowledge and experience using computers, tablets, and related software.

Experience cleaning commercial environments using commercial equipment in areas such as residence halls, hotels, hospitals, or nursing homes.

Knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques for a variety of surfaces and materials.

Ability to move heavy objects (50+ lbs) properly and safely, and remain on your feet for the duration of the shift.

Demonstrated experience completing assigned projects from start to finish with minimal oversight.
