RN L&D - Night Shift

Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in L&D nursing, with the ability to provide exceptional care in a fast-paced environment.Shift Requirements3x12 hour shifts (Night: 19:00 - 07:30)QualificationsMinimum of 1.5 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursingCertifications required: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate CourseTravel experience in L&D preferredResponsibilitiesThe Labor and Delivery RN will provide comprehensive care for patients during the labor and delivery process, including but not limited to:Conducting assessments and monitoring fetal heart ratesPerforming Non-Stress Tests (NST) and related evaluationsManaging high-risk deliveries and assisting with vaginal and cesarean deliveriesAdministering medications and IV therapy, including managing insulin drips and magnesium sulfate therapyPerforming assessments and interventions for complications such as pre-eclampsia, placental issues, and multiple gestationProviding education and support to patients and families during labor and postpartumParticipating in emergency situations, including neonatal resuscitation and postpartum hemorrhage managementFloating RequirementsMay float to Methodist Hospital Emergency Department for OB-specific care alongside a primary RN. An orientation period will be required upon first shift.Work Schedule & Holiday RequirementsMust be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays.Additional Skills and ExperienceExpertise in external and internal fetal monitoringExperience with managing pain relief methods, including epidural anesthesia and general anesthesiaAbility to provide couplet care for multiple birthsKnowledge of Cerner or similar electronic health record systemsUnit InformationThis position primarily involves working with Labor and Delivery patients, providing high-quality care throughout the birthing process.ParkingParking is available free of charge for employees.NoteEffective November 30, 2024, there are restrictions on hiring Indiana-based RNs, with certain exceptions for specific specialties.
