Hospital Paramedic - ER PRN

The Paramedic is responsible for responding to requests by the nursing staff or physician staff to assist with BLS interventions and to assist with emergency care within the emergency department according to protocols and policies approved by the hospital and emergency department medical director, and hospital policy. This position performs other duties related to the provision of care as assigned after appropriate training.
Responding to requests for paramedic level services from areas within the emergency department in a timely and safe manner.
Completing documentation and records according to hospital and department policy.
Ensuring emergency preparedness equipment is ready for response at all times.
Assisting with codes and critical care patients within the emergency department at the paramedic level, including interdepartmental transport and monitoring.
Performing assigned duties in the emergency department under the supervision of nursing with documentation of proper training and skills evaluation.
Assisting EMS providers with medications and supply restocking in accordance with hospital agreements with individual providers.
Participating in community activities, which improve the public's understanding of the EMS system.
