Unit Information:

• Number of Beds: 21
• Current Census: Approximately 8-12

Staffing Information:

• Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 3-4 RNs, 1 Patient Care Technician
• Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 3-4 RNs, 1 Patient Care Technician

Patient Ratios (Estimated):
1:3/4, flex to 5
Type of Equipment:
Baxter pumps
EMR - Meditech
Typical Hiring Profile:
Skills most recruited for: Oncology
Preferred Skills:
Candidates with a Hematology/Oncology background are preferred.
Chemo certification is a plus.
Typical Procedures Performed in the Unit:
Replacing blood and electrolytes

Unit Guidelines/Policies:
Neutropenic precautions
Strict intake and output monitoring
CHG bath and linen change every 24 hours
Dressing changes every 7 days
Line and cap changes every 96 hours
No children under 16 allowed
Weekends and On-Call:
