Registered NurseJob Title: Registered NurseProfession: NursingSpecialty: Step DownDuration: 13 WeeksShift: DayHours per Shift: 12Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience required.Epic experience required.Description: This is a 12-bed unit utilizing critical care and neuroscience principles at the Intermediate level. Common patient populations include those transferring from a neuro intensive care unit. The unit cares for patients who have experienced neuro trauma, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intraventricular hemorrhage, intracerebral hemorrhage, and post-operative spine patients. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:3. The job involves taking care of patients with conditions such as aneurysms, surgical drains, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injuries. Nursing responsibilities include arterial line management, blood product administration, and management of high-flow nasal cannula. Nurses are expected to interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac drips. Expectations also include administering oxygen, managing feeding tubes, and providing care post-neurosurgery. Adherence to floating policies is required if necessary. Nurses must work every other weekend and every other holiday, including two of the three winter holidays.
