Emergency Room Nurse Night

Registered Nurse - Port Orange Freestanding Emergency Department Night shift acute care nursing position for the Port Orange Freestanding Emergency Department. The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care according to the nursing process.

Responsibilities Direct, delegate, and coordinate all nursing care provided by LPN, CNA, Patient Care Companion, and Unit Clerk.

Perform assessments on admission and on an ongoing basis, including monitoring patient status.

Document assessment data and evaluate patient/family response to interventions.

Plan and coordinate care based on patient status and identified needs.

Initiate and verify physician orders and administer medications per established policies.

Serve as patient advocate, ensuring compassionate, individualized care.

Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes.

Adhere to legal, ethical, and organizational nursing standards.

Participate in staff orientation, professional development, and quality improvement initiatives.

Compliance with attendance, professional appearance, and other policies.

Qualifications Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Florida.

Degree from an accredited school of nursing; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Completion of general nursing orientation, unit orientation, and unit‑specific competency checklist.

Required certifications for the unit/area as specified in the certification addendum.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with physicians, patients, families, and other disciplines.
