Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
The OR Registered Nurse provides high-quality, patient-centered surgical care in a fast-paced operating room environment. This role is responsible for patient preparation, intraoperative support, and post-procedure documentation while collaborating with an interdisciplinary surgical team. The OR RN plays a critical role in ensuring patient safety, adherence to surgical protocols, and efficient workflow throughout the perioperative process.
Responsibilities:

Evaluate patients prior to surgery and assess readiness for procedures
Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and perioperative expectations
Prepare patients for surgery, including IV therapy, medication administration, and site verification
Participate in surgical safety protocols including time-outs, briefings, and debriefings
Assist during surgical procedures as a scrub and/or circulating nurse
Monitor patient status during procedures and respond to emergencies as needed
Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care and ensure adherence to best practices
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical techs, and interdisciplinary team members
Document patient conditions, care provided, and any changes throughout the surgical process
Support continuous improvement initiatives and workflow efficiency in the OR
Requirements:

Minimum 1+ year of recent OR RN experience (scrub and/or circulating required)
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required
BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment
Schedule:

Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Setting:

Acute care hospital
Large, 585+ bed facility
Level I trauma center
