We are looking for dynamic oncology clinic RNs with strong critical thinking, communication, care coordination and patient advocacy skills to join our Multi-Specialty Clinic team. The Multi-Specialty Clinic RN coordinates care and treatments, has primary care and nursing duties involving complete oncology care for patients and their families, and acts as a liaison with other departments to coordinate patient treatment and care. Other duties include: develop, interpret, evaluate, implement, and document plan of care for the patients, provide specific teaching, counseling, consultation, and nursing care both independently and as directed by the physician or advanced practitioner.
Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
RN license issued by the State of California.
Must have a minimum of four (4) years of recent demonstrated experience in an outpatient oncology clinic setting.
Demonstrated multi-disciplinary care coordination experience.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and their families.
Must have proven independent thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and prioritizing skills, with the ability to quickly assess and manage care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Oncology Certification (OCN).
Five (5) or more years of ambulatory Oncology experience.
Recent experience with processing prior authorizations for specialty medications and durable medical equipment.
Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.
Hourly Equivalent: $66.25 - $92.86
