By joining this particular High Performance Computing (HPC) prime contract, you'll help maintain and advance the computing infrastructure that powers unprecedented mission-critical analysis, scientific discovery, and scalable national security outcomes.______________________________________________________________________As a System Administrator on this program, you will help deliver enhanced HPC capabilities across multi-vendor HPC servers, HPC clusters, and specialized processing environments. Responsibilities: Configure, maintain, and advance Linux and Unix operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performanceProvide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systemsProvide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systemsProvide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problemsProvide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customersOptimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planningQualifications: Experience with OS install, file system configuration, TCP/IP networking, configuration, operating system and application troubleshooting, BASH scripting, software compilation and installUnderstanding of HPC architecture, knowledge of high-speed networks such as InfiniBand, SlingshotFamiliarity with Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Slurm, git, Salt, AnsibleProven troubleshooting skills - each system is slightly different and there's no "one fix" for a particular problemBachelor's degree in a technical disciplineMinimum five (5) years of demonstratable system administration experience or ten (10) years minimum experience in lieu of degree.annual merit-based salary increase and discretionary bonus program; 11 paid federal holidays; medical, dental, vision, life and short- & long-term disability insurance; employee assistance program; Equal Opportunity Employer:All applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, citizenship, family structure, marital status, disability, veteran or military status, or any other characteristic protected by law in all phases of the employment process and in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.An equal opportunity employer/disability/vet.
