LPN Licensed Practical Nurse Temp / Seasonal

Job Description

The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician to support plasma center operations.

Responsibilities

Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, education, and physical examination.

Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results.

Notify donors of unsuitable test results.

Follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including standing orders and donor transport.

Provide support for Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs.

Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER.

Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.

Current licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.

Current CPR and AED certification.

Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.

Complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.

Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
