Tax Associate
We’re looking for a highly motivated Tax Associate to join our Virginia tax team. In this role, you’ll assist with tax return preparation, compliance, and planning for a variety of clients, including corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals. You’ll gain hands‑on experience with Virginia tax law and multistate tax issues while working alongside experienced CPAs and mentors.
Prepare federal and Virginia state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts
Assist in the preparation of tax extensions, estimated payments, and tax projections
Conduct basic tax research on Virginia and multistate issues using tools like CCH or BNA
Support clients during IRS and Virginia Franchise Tax Board (FTB) audits or correspondence
Stay up to date on federal and Virginia tax law changes
Utilize tax preparation software (e.g., Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA-eligible or actively pursuing CPA licensure in Virginia
Understanding of federal and Virginia state tax regulations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
Internship or 1+ year of experience in public accounting or tax preparation
Familiarity with Virginia tax issues (FTB, CDTFA, or multistate filings)
Experience with tax software such as Lacerte
