Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in Anchorage, Alaska. This role involves working in a stepdown unit from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with a diverse patient population serving multiple disciplines. Candidates are required to bring their Alaska RN license on the first day. The assignment starts on 07/13/2026, for a duration of 13 weeks, with a shift schedule of three 12-hour days per week.
Job Details:

• Location: Anchorage, Alaska
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Alaska Registered Nurse license (must have license in hand for auto offer), Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); 0 years of experience; First-time travelers accepted
• Preferred Qualifications: None specified
• Float: Float within scope to meet facility needs, including lower acuity units, renal care, neuro, and medical-surgical patients

~ Additional Information:

• Stepdown unit from ICU with a broad range of patient care requirements
• 30% of patient population are cardiac-related, managing conditions like CHF, MI, post-TAVR, MVR, pacemakers, arrhythmias, and drug load patients
• Respiratory patients including COVID, flu, COPD, and asthma exacerbations, trach patients, and those on high flow NC and BIPAP
• Overflows for neuro and renal patients, as well as complex medical-surgical cases requiring higher monitoring levels
• Virtual nursing model assists with admissions, discharges, rounding, education, and safety
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• No local candidates accepted (distance of at least 50 miles from the facility required)
• Candidate must have a pending license accepted; license must be in hand for auto offer
• RTO (Requested Time Off) approval on an individual basis; all RTO must be included in submittal
• Commitment to work 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) if scheduled
• Over 20 hours of modular training may require approval; modules are non-billable and completed pre-start and annually
