Maintenance Electrician (Journeyman) | Full Time

Overview
The Payload Launch Sites Support Services (PLSSS) Program within SSC provides all the launch processing support functions for the Office of Space Launch (OSL). One of the program’s two primary operating locations is Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, FL. Key elements of the PLSSS program scope include satellite launch processing, satellite transport operations, satellite propellant loading operations, clean room operations, satellite processing and support facilities O&M, and safety and environmental services.
Basic Qualifications
Journeyman certification/apprenticeship.
Experience with industrial machinery.
Strict adherence to NFPA 70E/NEC safety standards.
Installation, maintenance and repair on 3‑phase switchgear, motor starters, PLCs, VFDs, pumps, ATS, distribution panels, lightning, generators, and related electrical wiring systems.
Test/troubleshoot circuits and equipment using voltmeter, ammeter, wattmeter, and ohmmeter.
Electrical circuits include voltage up to 600 V, 3‑phase current.
Install RSC and EMT conduit, including measures, cuts, threads, bends, and assembly.
Ability to lift 45 lb and climb multiple flights of stairs.
Class A CDL Driver’s License.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Project.
Strong attention to detail for part inspection and compliance verification.
Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
Willingness to perform other jobs as assigned.
Desired Skills
Perform maintenance services, diagnose systems or equipment malfunctions, and complete repairs.
Interpret and apply building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings; skilled in test equipment.
Understand safety protocols for handling high voltage and hazardous materials.
Replace all types of receptacles, re‑lamp light fixtures, and replace bulbs.
High‑voltage experience up to 13.2 V 3‑phase.
Experience with Emergency Standby Power and transfer switches, uninterrupted power supplies.
Work with Motor Control Center (MCC).
Progress Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
Bucket truck experience, CDL license.
Maintain Lightning Protection System in all NRO/OSL facilities.
Some travel (up to 10 %).
U.S. Citizen, able to obtain TS/SCI w/Poly.
Security Clearance
This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain TS/SCI w/Poly.
Work Schedule
4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
